Inspiration, Information for Gardeners

Green Spring Gardens is a must-visit park, a year-round gold mine of information and inspiration for the home gardener. It's an outdoor classroom, a museum, and a national historic site. Its mission is to connect the community to natural and cultural resources through horticulture, education, and stewardship.
The park has a wooded stream valley with ponds, a naturalistic native plant garden, more than 20 thematic demonstration gardens, a greenhouse, a plant shop, two gift shops, a historic house, and a horticulture reference library. The gardens and educational programs focus on practical landscaping and gardening techniques that are appropriate for the Washington metro area.
Public gardens are special parks with special rules. Please see the "Public Garden Etiquette and Rules" before your visit.
Park grounds are open dawn to dusk.

Fall Festival Plant Sale

The Friends of Green Spring (FROGS) Board of Directors has made the decision to cancel the annual Fall Festival plant sale and silent auction.  Although we will miss having this yearly event, the FROGS Board is eager to explore future opportunities to engage with dedicated FROGS members and the wider community who share our passion for Green Spring Gardens.

Spring Garden Day is tentatively scheduled for May 17, 2025.  This date is subject to change as spring plans are finalized.  We look forward to seeing you in Spring!  Stay tuned for more updates and exciting opportunities in the pipeline!
