Fairfax County Government is OPEN and operating on a normal schedule.
The county’s heat plan, already activated through Friday, has been extended through Saturday, July 4. When the plan is activated, cooling centers around the county are available during normal operating hours for individuals needing relief from the heat.
Further, because of the continued extreme heat expected through the holiday weekend, the county has activated a 24-hour cooling center at the Jim Scott Community Center.

The Pennino Building, at 12011 Government Center Parkway in Fairfax, is closed until July 6.
