The Planning Division of the Office of Emergency Management, with the support of their partners, have created plans that include our Emergency Operations Plan, our Pre-Disaster Recovery Plan, the Northern Virginia Hazard Mitigation Plan and the Community Emergency Response Guide. These plans are accessible by the public to enhance their knowledge on operations of the county before, during, and after a disaster.
The Fairfax County Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) is a multi-discipline, all-hazards plan that establishes a single, comprehensive framework for the management of major emergencies and disasters within the County. The EOP establishes the overall roles and responsibilities for emergency operations, as well as the concept of operations for the County.

Adopted by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, the Northern Virginia Hazard Mitigation Plan identifies hazards, establishes mitigation goals and objectives, and identifies projects that will help prepare for and reduce the impacts of natural disasters.
