Housing Hackathon
We held a housing hackathon on Jan. 24-25, 2019, to find innovative solutions to link residents with affordable, accessible and fair housing. Watch the pitches and learn more.
In partnership with the Smart Cities Council, we held a workshop on March 19, 2018. The event brought together government, business, nonprofit and university experts with a goal to advance the county's use of innovative technology.
Along with the Virginia Department of Transportation, we held a transportation and mobility hackathon in Nov. 2017 to find innovative tech, solutions for traffic congestion, mobility and safety. Teams competed for cash prize.
Fairfax County is the test track for self-driving cars and connected infrastructure in Virginia. We brought together autonomous vehicles experts, policy makers, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs to present ongoing research, showcase technology including offering demonstration rides and discuss the future impacts.
To better understand how to nurture our innovation ecosystem, we convened local and regional entrepreneurs to discuss their experiences starting their ventures in the county and the role that policy makers have in the ecosystem.
