Concurrent and Simultaneous Review RZ/FDP 2014-BR-019

Madame Chairman,

On September 17, 2014 an application for a Rezoning and a Final Development Plan (RZ/FDP 2014-BR-019) was accepted for review and comment by Fairfax County. The applicant, Christopher at Kenilworth, LLC, proposes to construct 9 single family homes on a 3.59 acre parcel known as the Hardy property, located at 9725 Braddock Road in Braddock District.  On February 11, 2014, I held a Community Information Meeting on the project which received a generally positive response from the community. It has also been recommended for approval by the Braddock District Land Use and Environment Committee.

The applicant has a formal public hearing scheduled before the Planning Commission on February 11, 2015. The applicant has requested authorization to process a concurrent site plan for the project in advance of that hearing and has asked for a date certain for a hearing before the Board of Supervisors.

Therefore, I move that the Board of Supervisors direct the Director of the Department of Public Works and Environmental Services to accept for concurrent and simultaneous review a site plan, architectural drawings and other plans as may be necessary to implement the improvements contemplated by the Applicant with this rezoning application.

I also move that the Clerk to the Board of Supervisors schedule this application for a public hearing before the Board of Supervisors on March 3, 2015.

The applicant is aware that this motion should not be considered as a favorable recommendation by the Board on the proposed applications and does not relieve the applicant from compliance with the provisions of all applicable ordinances, regulations and/or adopted standards, nor does it prejudice in any way the Board’s consideration of this pending application.
