NCS Account Information

  • Community, Teen and Technology Center Fees: Fairfax County residents have free access to NCS Community, Teen and Technology Centers. Some programs and activities may require a fee to participate.
  • Senior Center Membership Fees: Fairfax County residents can purchase a membership to the county's network of 14 Senior Centers at an annual fee of $31 or $62 per person (based on household income). See eligibility criteria.
  • Non-County Residents: All NCS facilities are accessible to non-county residents for an annual fee of $150 per person.

Creating your personal account is the first step to a smoother, more convenient experience with accessing the many activities and programs at NCS locations. Follow these 4 simple steps to set up your account:

  1. Go to the NCS RECDynamics website at https://Fairfax.usedirect.com/ncsweb
  2. Select "Create Account" at the top right corner of the screen
  3. Complete the required information under the following sections: General Information, Address, Primary Language and Emergency Contact.
  4. When you are ready, select "Create Account" and your new account will be made active.

If you encounter any difficulties with the RECDynamics system, please contact us online by clicking the "Contact Us" link in the system or visit an NCS location for assistance.

  • Membership Cards can be picked up upon your next visit to an NCS location. Please bring a photo ID and proof of residency*

*Proof of residency may include a bank statement, tax document, utility bill, official government document with your mailing address affixed. Information is required to ascertain whether out-of-county membership fees apply.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1) How do I create an account?

  • RECDynamics requires a valid email address to setup an account. 
  • To create an account, click: CREATE YOUR NCS ACCOUNT TODAY! link above. On the New Customer page, please fill out all the required fields noted by an (*) and any optional information you wish to provide. NCS requires the following information: Name, Birth Date, Address, Primary Phone Number, Gender, Emergency Contact and Email.
  • After completing the required information, please review the Registration Agreement section. Select the check box that you have read and understand the participation approvals and agreements
  • The system will prompt you to complete any missed required fields.
  • When you have completed the form, create a password of between 7 and 20 alphanumeric characters to include at least 1 Uppercase, 1 Lowercase, 1 Number and a special character. (Valid special characters are {}()!@#$%^&/,+_ ).
  • Opt-In or Out of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (VFOIA). Click: Click here for more info, to view the VFOIA Statement.
  • Click Create Account, and your new account is created.

2) How do I create an account if I do not have a computer?

  • Our website can be reached from any internet browser. You can also use a smartphone or tablet to create your account. You can visit a local NCS facility and our staff can assist you with creating your account.

3) How do I check my online account from home?

  • Please visit https://fairfax.usedirect.com/NCSWeb and use your account login and password to access your account. You can also choose to add this website to your web browser "Favorites" for easier/quicker access.

4) How do I recover my account?

  • I am trying to create an account but a message indicates my account already exists?
    • If you have you registered at one of our centers in the past few years. You may already be in the system! To see if you already have an account with us, click the Login button. Click the link “Recover Your Account”. Then, enter your email address in the field and click “Reset Password”. If your email is on file, you will receive a message stating “Your password was successfully reset. Please check your Email to retrieve the new temporary password.”  An email will be sent to you with a randomly generated password. You can then use your email address and temporary password to log in to your account and verify your information and change your password.
  • When I try to recover account and provide my email, it states account doesn't exist?
    • If your email is incorrect or not on file, you will receive a message stating that “The email address you entered is not found in our system or is invalid. Please enter the email address used to register with the system.” If you have another email address, give it a try! You can try creating a new account or you can click “Contact Us” or visit a local NCS facility.

5) How do I recover/change my password?

  • How do I recover my password?
    • Click the Login button. Click the link “Recover Your Account.” Then, enter your email address in the field and click “Reset Password.” If your email is on file, you will receive a message stating “Your password was successfully reset. Please check your Email to retrieve the new temporary password.” 
    • An email will be sent to you with a randomly generated password. You can then use your email address and temporary password to log in to your account and verify your information and change your password.
  • How can I change/ reset my password?

    • Enter your old/current password at the top under “Current Password” then scroll down to the bottom and type your new passwords (create a password of between 4 and 10 characters). Then click “Save Changes.”

6) How do I add a family member/dependent to my household account?

  • Log into your RECDynamics account at: https://fairfax.usedirect.com/NCSWeb. Click “Your Account” from the main menu, then from drop-down menu select “Your Account” then select “Your Dependents”. Then click “Add Person.”
  • Enter the new member’s information to include Relationship. For youth, the school information is required.
  • Then click "Add Person" to add them to your household account.

7) How do I update my account information?

  • If would like to change your account details (including email address, mailing address, etc.), log into your RECDynamics account at: https://fairfax.usedirect.com/NCSWeb. Click “Your Account” from the main menu, then from drop-down menu select “Your Account” then select “Your Profile.”
    • Enter your old/current password at the top under “Current Password” then scroll down to the bottom and type your new passwords (create a password of between 7 and 20 alphanumeric characters to include at least 1 Uppercase, 1 Lowercase, 1 Number and a Special Character. (Valid special characters are {}()!@#$%^&/,+_ )
    • Then click “Save Changes.”

8) What should I do if I have forgotten the email address I used to create my account?

1) What type of memberships are available?

  • NCS General Membership – Is a free membership for all Fairfax County Residents who wish to attend activities at either a Community Center, Teen Center or Technology Center. Residents must provide proof of residency in order to receive an NCS General Membership. This membership is only valid at Community, Teen and Technology Centers.
  • NCS Senior Center Membership –Is a paid membership for eligible Fairfax County Residents ages 50 years and older who wish to attend activities at an NCS Senior Center. Fairfax County residents can purchase a membership to the county's network of 14 Senior Centers at an annual fee of $62 per person (based on household income). Residents below specified income levels may request a partial or full-fee waiver with required documentation. This membership can utilize any of our NCS facilities (Senior Centers, Community Centers and Technology Centers).
  • Non-county residents can purchase a membership to access NCS Facilities for an annual fee of $150 per person. The Out of County Membership fee allows non-county residents to participate in programs and activities in NCS facilities.

2) What is the eligibility for a senior center membership?

  • Our senior center facilities have been designed for independent seniors. To qualify for membership at Neighborhood & Community Services (NCS) Senior Centers, a participant must be 50 years of age or older and with minimal support to be: 
    • Able to orient correctly to person, place, and time.
    • Able to independently navigate to programs and through center facilities safely. 
    • Able to receive, follow and respond appropriately to instructions and emergency directives independently.
    • Able to maintain personal care (eating, restroom usage, personal hygiene, medication management) independently.
    • Able and willing to follow the Code of Conduct.
  • An individual who requires assistance with activities of daily living may be able to join in center activities if he/she has a companion or family member with them at all times and approval from center director.
  • All program applicants must meet eligibility requirements, participation guidelines, and adhere to the Code of Conduct for senior centers. NCS reserves the right to deny access to senior centers or to discharge a participant when program eligibility requirements are no longer met.

3) What is the eligibility for a community center membership?

  • Our community centers are open to all Fairfax County Residents ages 6 and up and you must adhere the Fairfax County Code of Conduct.

4) What is the eligibility for a teen center membership?

  • Our teen center facilities have been designed for youth in grades 7 through 12 and you must adhere the Fairfax County Code of Conduct.

5) What is the eligibility for a technology center membership?

  • Our technology centers are open to all Fairfax County Residents ages 6 and up and you must adhere the Fairfax County Code of Conduct.

6) I have been a member for a long time. Do I have to sign-up in the new system?

  • If your account profile in our system and your account was in good standing (active/current), your information should be reviewed annually. There may be some information our staff may ask you to update. If it has been more than two years since your last membership expired, your account may be inactive in our system, and you will need to renew your membership to continue using our system and NCS facilities.

7) What is the fee for NCS memberships?

  • NCS General Membership is free.
  • NCS Senior Center memberships range from $31 to $62 annually based on household income.
    • $31 Membership Fee*: Annual income is $57,720 and below for individuals single or married.
    • $62 Membership Fee: Annual income is $57,721 and above for individuals single or married. 

* Proof of Income: Fees are based on the participant or participant/spouse’s gross income. Applicants requesting a waiver of the annual registration fee must provide documentation to the Senior Center Director. A list of eligible documentation may be obtained from Senior Center staff.

  • Non-county residents may purchase either membership for $150 per person per year and are not eligible for a fee waiver. 

8) What payment types are accepted?

  • We accept the following payment types: Cash, Check, Money Order, Visa, Master Card , Discover and American Express. We DO NOT accept Pin required Debit Cards, Flexible Spending Cards, EBT Cards and Diners Club.

9) How will the payment show on my credit card statement?

  • All memberships and other fees charged by credit cards at Department of Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) Centers will appear on the credit card statements of the credit card holders, as either “NCS – Program Services” or “NCS – Senior Center Fees”.

10) What do I need to bring to a NCS site to finalize my registration process?

  • Picture ID
  • Proof of residency may include a bank statement, tax document, utility bill, official government document with your mailing address affixed. Information is required to ascertain whether out-of-county membership fees apply.
  • For Senior Center members, a list of eligible documentation may be obtained from Senior Center staff.

11) Can I changes the type of membership I have?

  • If a customer has an NCS General Membership and wishes to become a member of a senior center, they can visit a local senior center to start the application process to include purchasing a new NCS Senior Center membership.
  • If a customer in no longer interested in being a member of the senior center, when the current membership expires they can sign up for the NCS General Membership.

12) How do I know when my membership has expired?

  • When you scan your membership card at the center, the screen will show scan invalid/expired with the date of expiration.
  • Staff can look up your account information in the system and inform you.
  • If you have a valid email address on your account, you may receive an email reminder about renewing your membership.

13) Can I purchase a membership online?

  • At this time all membership must be purchased on site at an NCS Facility

14) Why am I being charged $100 if I am a Fairfax County resident?

  • Our memberships are based on a classification in the system. If your classification is incorrect, you can visit your local center and the staff will verify your residency and make any appropriate adjustments to your account.

15) Can I pay for multiple memberships at the same time?

  • Yes, if all the members are on one account. If each member is on a different account, then each membership must be sold separately.
  • Yes, if your form of payment is cash or check.
  • Paying with credit cards will have different results, some banking/credit card institutions have security levels that may prevent us from processing the credit card payments back to back.

16) Will my membership with the Fairfax County Park Authority work at NCS sites? 

  • No. The Park Authority has a similar system, but the systems are not connected.

1) I have an old membership card. Will it still work?

  • Yes, if your membership account is in our system and your account was in good standing (active/current), then your membership card should work. If it does not work for some reason, our staff can work to resolve the issue.

2) Does everyone on my account get a membership card?

  • Yes. Each member will receive a membership card once their membership has been processed.

3) How long does it take to receive a membership card?

  • If you created your account online, you will need to visit your local NCS Center to receive your membership card. Once the staff verifies your information, you will receive your membership card.

4) Can I get a replacement card?

  • Yes. You will need to visit your local NCS facility.

1) Why are did you change to a new system?

  • We are always searching for ways to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness in which we are able to provide services to the community. Moving to a new system allowed us to upgrade an antiquated database and registration system while allowing our participants to have the ability to create and manage their membership accounts.
  • Our system also allows for easier access for our registered participants to NCS facilities throughout the county and take advantage of different programming opportunities without having to re-register at every facility. The new badging and check-in capabilities afforded through the software also provide an upgraded security measure which is consistent with our priority of ensuring that NCS facilities provide a safe environment for all.

2) What can I do with the RECDynamics System?

  • Currently our users may add/update household and family member information and view recent transaction information. 

3) Is your system secure?

  • Yes, our system is fully compliant with the latest Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) and uses modern encryption technology to ensure your credit card transaction is secure. Only NCS Staff have access to the customer information in our system.

4) What is your privacy policy?

  • Fairfax County is dedicated to preserving your privacy and security while viewing our Web sites. We strive to retrieve the minimum amount of information from our visitors necessary in order to provide a host of various services and resources. A Web Privacy Policy  page outlines practices and procedures affecting visitors of our site in accordance with the Virginia Department of Technology Planning's Internet Privacy Guidelines (COV ITRM Guideline SEC2001-02.1).

5) I am not a Fairfax County resident. Do I qualify to use the system?

  • Yes. Non-county residents may purchase either an NCS General or NCS Senior Center membership for $150 per year. Please note that there may be additional fees for classes, programs and/or activities.

6) What is a barcode?

  • The barcode is a series of numbers on the back of your membership card/keychain tag(s). This number is used in order to check in to the facility. You can still use this same card to check in as you have in the past. If you purchase a new membership or lose your card, you can request a replacement card at your local NCS facility.
