SAFETY ALERT – If you are in danger, call or text 911.
Donations make a difference! You can help.
Did you know every day in Fairfax County we respond to two people who are at high risk for serious physical injury or death at the hands of someone they love?
The community can support survivors in either of two ways:
Gift Cards
Domestic violence affects countless individuals and families, leaving them in need of assistance as they rebuild their lives. In our efforts to empower survivors and help them regain their independence, we have found that gift cards can be a valuable resource. They provide survivors with the flexibility to meet their specific needs and purchase essential items such as groceries, clothing, personal care products, and household supplies.
Thanks to community donation of gift cards from popular retailers such as supermarkets, department stores, pharmacies, and gas stations, those donations make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by domestic violence. Not only does the community generosity provide practical assistance, but it also conveys a message of compassion, hope, and support to survivors during their healing journey.
To make a donation, either purchase gift cards directly or contribute funds toward their purchase. Gift cards in denominations of $25 or $50 are preferred to ensure they are useful to recipients.
Gift cards should be dropped off (or mailed) to:

Food Supplies
As part of our commitment to assisting survivors on their journey to safety and empowerment, we operate a pantry at DVAC. This pantry plays a vital role in meeting the immediate and ongoing needs of survivors and their families, who often flee abusive situations with little to no resources.
Your support will reinforce their belief that they are not alone and that their community stands with them. Donations of gift cards from local grocery stores or retailers (i.e., Giant, Safeway, Wegman’s, Trader Joes, Target, and Walmart) enable survivors to choose the items they need most, ensuring their specific preferences and dietary requirements are met.
We also accept a wide range of essential items for our pantry, including non-perishable food, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, baby supplies, and other necessities.
If you want to donate, please call the DVAC mainline at 703-246-4573 to inquire about current needs.
Monetary donations (checks; do not send cash) must be sent to:
