Fairfax County Accepting Applications for the
Summer RECQuest Program

Applications are now being accepted for the Summer RECQuest program. RECQuest has eight community center locations throughout the county. RECQuest is an affordable all-day program for children in grades first through sixth. Activities include arts and crafts, cooperative games, community serve projects, field trips and much more. RECQuest offers kids the opportunity to make friends and have fun in a safe, supervised environment. REQuest begins June 18 and runs through August 29, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You may register for the entire 11 weeks, one week, or any combination of weeks. The cost is $70 per week per child. A sliding fee scale available. Community centers are operated by the Fairfax County Department of Community and Recreation Services (CRS).

CRS’ Therapeutic Recreation Division offers an inclusion program for children with disabilities within the RECQuest program. If you are interested in requesting this service, please contact them at 703-324-5532, TTY 711.

Participants must bring a bag lunch daily and wear comfortable clothing. Some of the centers are Summer Meals for Kids sites. Meals will be provided at those locations. Transportation to and from the center is the responsibility of the parent. For registration information, please call one of the community center locations or CRS at 703-324-5555, TTY 711. You can also visit the website at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/rec for a registration form, which you take to the location of your choice on the first Monday of the week you choose.
