Just Jumper Horse Show Series

Watch local residents compete for a blue ribbon in a variety of jumping classes at Frying Pan Farm Park starting at 9 a.m. Show is held indoors rain or shine . Spectators admitted free. 703-437-9101.

Mill Run Dulcimer Band Concert

Spread your blanket atop the fallen leaves and listen to the last free outdoor concert of the season at Colvin Run Mill from 2 to 4 p.m. The band moves to the barn if the weather is blustery. Call 703-759-2771.

Holding the Past in the Present

Use archaeological methods and techniques to see what you can find, and examine artifacts found at Sully Historic Site from 1 to 3 p.m. to figure out how they were used. The cost is $5 per person. Call 703-437-1794.

Points in History: Stories of Cub Run and Pleasant Valley

Uncover the lives of the people who once lived where Cub Run RECenter stands from 3 to 4 p.m. This program is suitable for people ages 10 years and older. Reservations are required. The cost is $3 per person. Call 703-817-9407

Batty Campfire

Enjoy a night hike to learn about native bats at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Use a bat detector to hear bats communicate and locate food. Settle by the campfire to sip hot chocolate and roast marshmallows. Reservations required. The cost is $10 per family. Call 703-631-0013.
