In 1974 a modest community library opened in the Peachtree of McLean apartment complex. Local population growth soon made construction of a larger library necessary, and the 25,000 square-foot Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library opened on October 26, 1985, with a collection of 80,000 materials.
Today the recently renovated branch offers an array of library services for users of all ages from a richly diverse community. These include quiet and group study rooms, a Wi-Fi bar for customers to use with their own devices, more meeting space and a large children’s area, among other infrastructure and facility upgrades. The library was built following green building standards.
The collection of more than 100,000 materials has been refreshed with many new items. Help using our ebooks, English language learning programs, and book clubs are among the special programming provided. We also provide a wide variety of year-round story times for children. Staff and volunteers are committed to making the library a comfortable and friendly setting to read, reflect and learn.
