The Fairfax County Health Department's Healthcare Suite offers a variety of healthcare services for all ages, particularly low income, underserved populations who have faced barriers to accessing health care. The Health Department is part of the Fairfax County Health and Human Services System, which works to protect, promote and improve health and quality of life for all who live, work and play in our community.
The following programs are available in the Healthcare Suite:
HealthWorks for Northern Virginia
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
HealthWorks for Northern Virginia is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center that provides primary medical, dental and behavioral health services to individuals of all ages, regardless of income or insurance status. Services include:
- Comprehensive primary medical care for ages newborn and up, including laboratory
- Behavioral health
Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
The Fairfax County Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program aims to improve the health of pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women, infants, and children under five years of age. Participants must meet categorical income, residential and nutrition risk eligibility requirements. WIC program services offered in the Healthcare Suite include:
- Supplemental nutritious food
- Nutrition counseling and education
- Breastfeeding promotion and support is provided by the WIC Program through assistance and education, peer counselors, classes and supplies and equipment (such as pumps)
- Information and referrals to health care and social services
Western Fairfax Christian Ministries
Western Fairfax Christian Ministries’ (WFCM) vision is a community where everyone is housed and fed and experiences God’s love. WFCM is addressing food insecurity by providing a Free Food Fridge in the Healthcare Suite that they will stock regularly with fresh food. WIC will provide the food to patients assessed as food insecure or in need of such food/nutrients. For questions or to request assistance call 703-988-9656, TTY 711.
